Why Psychotherapy?

Is there a stressful situation, where you can’t find a solution? Psychotherapy can help you to alleviate the suffering and initiate change processes. If you are ready to open up to this process, then your potential can be explored, and your quality of life can improve.

There are different reasons why people seek psychotherapy. Here some examples:

  • Grief and loss
  • Addiction and dependence
  • Trauma
  • Stress and burnout
  • Conflict resolution
  • Relationship problems
  • Crisis situations
  • Decision support
  • Depression
  • Anxiety and panic attacks
  • Aggression and violence
  • Personality development
  • Eating or sleeping disorders
  • Compulsions
  • Sexual problems
  • Bullying
  • Personality disorders

I know that it’s not always easy to reach out and ask for help. Professional support can help you to get more clarity, to manage crisis situations, to alleviate suffering and to handle stress better.

What is Gestalt Therapy?

Gestalt Therapy is a form of psychotherapy, and it belongs to the group of humanistic therapies. The humanistic approach assumes that each person has the ability to develop themselves. In psychotherapy we activate the necessary forces to solve problems independently.

The Word “Gestalt“ comes from Gestalt psychology and it is based on the foundation that a Gestalt is more than the sum of its parts, like a melody is more than the sum of its single tones. Gestalt therapists see the psyche and the body not as separate, but as one.

Frederick S. Perls, who founded Gestalt Therapy together with his wife Lore Perls and Paul Goddman, once said that learning is discovering. The aim of Gestalt Therapy is to help people to become aware of their repressed parts, to accept and integrate them and therefore experience a new wholeness. This way, development can happen, and people can discover and live to their full potential. The focus stays in the Here and Now because change can only happen in the present.
